RCSI’s inaugural North American alumni engagement event took place in the Irish Consul General’s Residence in New York on 5th May.
Over 40 alumni from New York, Boston and as far away as Canada, representing an array of classes from the class of 1954 to last year’s graduate class, attended for what was a very memorable evening of reminiscing about college days in 123 St Stephen’s Green, catching up with old friends and making new contacts.
On the night, Professor Cathal Kelly, RCSI’s Chief Executive/Registrar, and Ms Aíne Gibbons, RCSI’s new Director of Philanthropy, announced that this event would be the first of many new alumni events that will be hosted by RCSI worldwide to facilitate and foster connections through our Alumni Relations programme of engagement events.
Ms Aíne Gibbons, Director of Philanthropy, RCSI commented: “With 20,000 alumni worldwide, the RCSI network of health professionals is interesting and influential, a veritable tour de force. Our inaugural North American alumni engagement event presented a fantastic opportunity for our alumni guests to re-connect and share their memories of the College and to discuss their professional pursuits and beyond. We hope this is the first of many alumni events to take place worldwide and welcome your suggestions for future locations.”
RCSI encourages alumni to support the College in this endeavour by updating contact details and submitting bio sketches atwww.rcsi.ie/keepintouch
