Practicing in the USA
University College Dublin is fully accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA).
All
veterinarians must write the North
American Veterinary Licensing Examination
(NAVLE) to be eligible for licensing.
The examination is a computer-based
multiple-choice test. NAVLE exams
are offered yearly in December and
April and are written by students
during the final year of academic
study.
In many states, veterinarians are also required to write a state exam covering the laws of veterinary medicine specific to that state, before commencing practice.

Practicing in Canada
University College Dublin is fully accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA).
Canadian
veterinarian applicants must write
the North American Veterinary Licensing
Examination (NAVLE) to be eligible
for licensing. While the exam is usually
written in English, Quebec residents
have the option of writing the exam
in either official language.
Following a successful NAVLE Examination, students may apply to the province for licensure. Depending on the province, a subsequent qualifying exam may need to be written.
