Arriving in Ireland

The overseas office at University College DublinCitizens of the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand do not require visas to enter Ireland. Upon arrival at the airport, students who display their signed letter of acceptance into one of the four medical schools, and their current passport, are permitted to enter freely.

Shortly after the school year begins, immigration officials arrive at university sites for the purpose of signing the necessary forms and easing the enrollment process. Students need only bring their proof of registration at the school, passport, two passport-sized photos, and a bank statement showing they have enough funds to provide for rent, food and tuition while in Ireland.

Subsequent Years

For each year thereafter, students only need to bring their proof of registration for the year to the Immigration Office, and their documents are approved for that school year.

Working in Ireland

Students studying in Ireland are allowed to work in academic and research-related jobs during their stay, or during the summer breaks during their stay, or during the summer breaks.
